I have a obsession with crayfish. I constantly talk about them using their binomial names. I have a pet procambarus alleni. Anyone else like that? By the way I do not eat crayfish.

I had a minor obsession with crustaceans as a kid, mostly crabs and crayfish. It's just one of those obsessions that withered away, but I wouldn't mind owning some hermit crabs again.

I know it's irrelevant, but the southerner in me is going *twitch twitch* "Crawfish."
As your special interest, does it bother you when it's misrepresented? I can see how it would so just so you know, no disrespect meant.

I also like watching crayfish. They're interesting to watch, and they're cute. :)

Me, too. I'm not a southerner, but I went to school in Louisiana where I mispronounced the name of the creature ONCE only. When I was a kid I kept what I mistakenly believed to be called crayfish as pets, usually very briefly, and likely without parental knowledge. They were very appealing and I regret that I didn't know how to treat them properly--like leaving them in the wild!
