I'm talking like seriously addicted, not like haha.

Last year my husband gave me this OHMYGOD fantastic espresso maker for my birthday. All year I've been struggling with drinking water and not the delicious nectar that comes out of that machine. I can tell that I'm dehydrated. It seems the simplest thing in the world to just drink some d*mn water, but I really struggle with it.

Especially when I'm working on something. I just think that I NEED cup after cup and all that does is make me sicker. Right now I feel so nauseous and my head hurts and I can't make myself eat or get up. I feel wretched. Yet my mind keeps telling me, "Now don't you know what would make you feel better? A cup...of...coffee..."

Aaaah. Been there, done that. Had to cut down for health reasons.

It's amazing how you really manage to convince yourself you'll feel better after one more cup, innit?

I don't use milk as much anymore because I'm dieting but I still enjoy black coffee with two spoons of Silver Spoon sweetener :)

The weird thing? I used to hate coffee as a kid. HATE it. And then I grew to like it better than tea.

Yeah and this is how I know it's a real addiction- I'll feel very thirsty and instead of water what I'll find myself doing is going to make another cup of coffee. How stupid is that?

I read this study about rats once. They gave them liquid cocaine and water to choose from. They would choose cocaine over water to the point of lethal dehydration. I keep telling myself I'm going to coffee myself to death like those rats. :(

I should cut down on the amount of coffee I drink per day, I have minor chest pain issues and after some research, stimulants like caffeine probably increase their likelihood, seeing as I don't suffer from heartburn. Very likely I am addicted to coffee.

Tea is better.
The kind you drink.
Yorkshire Gold.
Barry's Gold Blend.
Red Rose.
Hot. Iced.
Black.
With milk and honey.
With lime.
With chocolate.
Green.

Tea perfume.
Tea soap.
Tea-scented candles.

I'm apparently sensitive to caffeine, because if I drank the amount that the average person drinks, it would wreak havoc on my digestive system and cause me to exhibit symptoms similar to the mild/moderate ones associate with low blood sugar (as opposed to actually giving me energy like it's supposed to). This is not limited to coffee as other beverages have done the same, but if I get it dilute enough it works.

Methinks it's one of those single-serve coffee makers like a Keurig.
