If so could you tell

1) Where are the desirable areas to live there in the city/ immediate suburbs?
2) What are considered the "bad" areas?
3) What are the top most important things to visit in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia is a s**thole live across the river in New Jersey it's a bit nicer over there. However if you're gonna head over to Jersey avoid Camden or Gloucester. Then once you get settled in come to the other side of PA over to Pittsburgh and pay me a visit :D

depends on what kind of people you are looking for and other stuff (how close are stores, do cars wake you up, are you moving into a neighborhood ect) They both have good points and bad points

From someone who's lived in both states, I can tell you that PA's the cheaper of the two, especially now that NJ's sales tax got bumped to 7% (then again, NY's is 8.625%). May want to consider that.

Also, if you don't mind a little commute, you might try Bucks, Berks (except near Reading), or even Lehigh Counties - they're between 30 minutes and an hour away. Cabela's is near the Lehigh/Berks border and is plainly visible from Interstate 78. It's more than an hour away from Philly.

That's about 80 miles from Philadelphia. Supposedly we are moving ... we've been "moving" for the past 2 years.

Jman~ it couldn't be much worse than where I live now :?. When I click on "show environmental hazards" on a map of my area on property shark, the whole map lights up.

Probably isn't much better in Phily... yes I am considering NJ, but chances are I am stuck here for all eternity.
