I'm a good man, a loving husband, a proud father, a hard worker, a loyal friend.
I pay my taxes and obey the law. I'm not violent, I try not to hurt people and I don't tell lies.

Why can't people accept me?

Because you're suffering from a problem known as "being surrounded by a**holes".

I know the frustration. The question is, accepted by whom? Acceptance by everyone is an impossibility for any human being. And yeah, there's the a-hole problem. Maybe you're looking for acceptance in the wrong places. Or, what degree of acceptance are you needing? I need enough acceptance to go shopping and such. I could care less if they approve. I do need more from friends and that's hard to find.

Dear CantExplain, It is not 'can't accept', it is 'chooses not to accept'. You have a choice for their behavior:

ignorance
Prejudice
Feeling good by comparison
Society's expectation of male behavior
