the germanic branch of my ancestors originate from a place called Müller, i have no idea what type of german is spoken there or was spoken there 100 years ago, or how it would've been corrupted by the time i got to lancaster.

I find it very interesting where are ancestors come from. AuntBlabby I wasn't saying your people specifically were Swiss, I was talking about the German Mennonites and Amish originally coming from Northern Switzerland. I know they moved around because of religious persecution as my sisters' family came from what is known as Ukraine today before coming to the US and then settling in Penn. I hope there was no misunderstanding. :oops:

i wasn't aware of any problems with the swiss, i think they rock :thumleft:
i know some of my relations [on my paternal grandfather's maternal side] back in the day, were what were known as dunkards, around indiana. now they are all lost to the mists of time.
