Have any of you guys have it done to you? And what is the significance of having lots of posts?

The significance of having lots of posts and than posting my status each time I celebrate a milestone is that people would know that I've been here for many years since 2004 and that I'm not just another spam bot. I'm also a Cockney and Cockneys are usually the most chatty people in the world. I have a lot to say and if I think it, I say it. I'd also appreciate it if people didn't use my post count against me just because of the way that I am.

What here? I don't think it happens.

Having lots of posts signifies having lots of posts. It can denote longevity of membership, or being a spambot disguised as a human. Like me. I don't think it's that important. What do you think?

It is possible to have lots to say, without being a spam bot. I've also been here for 7 years.

I was only talking about me there, I don't consider you a spam bot.

You've been here a long time! So naturally you have a high post count. :)

I was talking to the OP. It seems as though he was using my post count against me. I felt that he was. It seems to me that every time someone who has over 10000 posts celebrates, somebody new has to start a thread about it, or say something sarcastic in the thread of the OP about it. 8)

We all have different value systems, and some people like to post little some a lot.

I think I wanted to get to 100 relatively quickly when I first started posting. Since then it's been less important. I find it impressive when people have, say > 5000 posts. But it also means a lot of time spent at a computer in some form.

I would not hold a high post count against anyone, on the contrary. I might hold a very low post count against someone who jumps right into posting threads, especially ones that have been posted many times before. But even that is fairly harmless in the grand scheme of things but it must be a bit annoying for those members who've been on WP a long time.

PS Moog, you've changed your avatar! It's nice but I completely loved the old one...

I'd like to think that post count doesn't bear any significance, and what is actually said by the poster is what matters.

So yes, you can dismiss 24,000 of my posts as unimportant rubbish, but I reckon I've still written a thousand that are well thought out and important to me or others.

I never pay attention to it, I have 4000 or something other..

It'd be higher but I avoid the off the wall forum.

(well this thread turned out nothing like I had planned)
I am quite indifferent about the post count, but I still like to know that its there so I can see how many I've made

Well join the party, I'm looking forward to 5,000 because... well, I have autism and I'm obsessed with numbers.

Why thank you, I'll take that as a compliment.

^ Did you celebrate when you posted 886 times?

Edit: Why does the new page when referring to the above poster curse always strike me...
