What's a homeshare?

I'm not familiar with that word at all.

Homeshare: An arrangement in which homeowners are matched with a sharer-renter who shares in living expenses and/or services..

Like renting a room? I've heard of people doing that but never knew anyone who did it. I don't think it's that common anymore here. Unless you are talking about something completely different that I've never heard of.

I don't know if I'd like to live in a strangers home. I'd feel uncomfortable and like I was imposing. Although it would still be better than living with my mother.

I live with my husband and kids and have for 25 years, so it's sort of a moot point for me. But, I think sharing someone else's home, unless they were a good friend or family member would freak me out.

rents in Vancouver are extremely high so i think it's an arrangement that has sprung out of that.
