I am 19 (duh, its on the left) I would guess that I feel 15 or 16, which is how old I look. Besides hormones, thinking girls are pretty, i don't think that i feel that different from when I was younger.

So I can vote... big deal.

Being responsible, keeping your word/having integrity, being reliable, in control of your own destiny, financially independent or close, pubic hair, having to sing about women, not girls, appreciating the feeling of boredom because it means you aren't working or having to do anything, slowly losing your health as time goes by, looking in the mirror and seeing someone older than you conceptualize in your mind, paying sh***y bills and taxes, dealing with tedious miscellanea in the day to day with equanimity...

Having to pay for EVERYTHING, life always has some price or monthly silly payments.

Being brave enough to be yourself, no matter what's going on in the world of Popular Culture.

problem is "adult" is a much bigger chunk of life than childhood... So its a bigger range.

My life is very different now than when I was your age 11 years ago.

So I would say at your age that the primary thing you should feel is: not being in highschool any more and whatever comes with that (job, job searches, college, free time etc)

as you get into your 20s you'll start to find how about 50% of life stays like highschool and that people continue to treat you like a kid and that the other 50% is different for better and worse.

so far at 30 I find that I am generally easily ok with whatever new things I find out about myself. I don't worry about what parts of my identity mean and how they will control or affect my life, but instead just see them as definitions.

Someone who is older will have to give you an idea of what its like to be 40, 50, 60, etc :p

I think I'm catching up. Until recently people told me I don't act my age at all. At a point in life I just went through a lot and I feel like I did a lot of growing up in the past 2 years.

Selling your soul to your home, child, and spouse.

Whether or not the soul selling is beneficial is up to the adult.

The state of adulthood is a position to where you can teach others something that they may lack. It's a measure of Wisdom personified. In culture, it would entail job ethics, to exercising practical sills such as organizing, and extending into the sphere of experience in human relationships -- the How To's of it all.

When someone can do that to some degree would indicate a maturity or adulthood status. It may take you to 40 to reach it.

You're not an adult until you realize and totally embrace one simple truth:

There is no such thing as a "grown up."

(Think about it... )

Once you get there, you're an adult.

Having to do everything on your own
Managing your own money
Not playing with toys any more (most grow out of that by around 13)
Being able to cook your own meals
Dealing with things more maturely
Not thinking adults are ''really big'' any more
Getting more serious with relationships, not going ''oooooo!'' when somebody falls in love or not saying childish rhymes like ''[name] and [name] sitting in a tree...''
Taking care of yourself like keeping clean
Making your own sandwiches for work/college, laying out your own clothes for the next day, etc (some people learn this in their teens)
Driving a car or getting buses on your own
Living independantly, if you live with your parents you can still be independant; go to work, run a car, go out and about, prepare your own meals, even help your parents out - remember they are getting on and probably aren't as lively and active as you are as a young adult, they might need more time to themselves

Lots more but I can't think of any more at the moment.
