I'm a future freak. My dad would always say, 'there you are, with your crystal ball again, Clair Voyant...' etc.

I know it's healthier to focus on the present, but my instincts are to predict what might happen and prepare for it.

How about you?

I don't know. The past hasn't exactly been brilliant, the present is OK I suppose, and thinking about the future too much scares me (although I know it'll be alright).

It's actually a split answer for me. I do think a lot about the future. But I also think a lot about branching timelines... What would things be like now if whatever thing or situation had been different.

What if prohibition had never happened?
What if the south had won the civil war?
What if the US never had it's revolution from Britain?
What would my life be like if I had never moved away from the town I was born in?

things like that. I could come up with hundreds of scenarios.

I really don't believe in the present. Think about it. By the time you read this it is already in the past. Just as I put this symbol in the post % it's in the past too. I guess that's why I live for each breath, not each day.

I get nostalgic often, but I think I'm more focused on the future, and what I can do now to make it better. I'm excited and scared and uncertain about it.

I used to be stuck in the past for a really long time, and at the same time very preocopied over my future. But now i sort of let both of it go, i learned it's more important to focus and live in the present. To enjoy now.

I focus too much on the past. I either become very nostalgic over things or dwell on the ways other people have hurt me.

The sad thing is, when the future comes, I'm going to become nostalgic about this time in my life and wonder why I squandered it thinking about my past.

Yes, I used to be the same way. I was obsessed with the past and would cry because I wanted to live in simpler times again, and also stop things from ever happening. I'm getting much better at appreciating now, though.

The present.
I'm always bogged down in what needs to be done, or should have been done by now, etc.

That being said, while reading or watching movies or ESPECIALLY playing piano, I cease to have any concept of time. I don't have any connection with my physical self at all, and often pull back to find it's five hours later.

That remains to be seen.
Many people here consider it halftime.

I find myself slipping up in the present if I dwell on the future or the past. My mind focuses on the here and now so I can get by.

Even though I do think about all three a lot, I'm probably more focused on the present. I usually prefer to take things as they come, and to not worry about things that haven't happened yet. That's probably one reason why I procrastinate a lot, too.

I can't say time is completely linear for me. It all kind of bunches up in one point in time, almost like a condensed version of my life in movie form.

However, I do focus mainly on what's going on in the here and now.

I'm focused on the past and I'm happily roaming around anywhere between the January of 1964 and the Mid July of 1984. It works for me and I'm happier and healthier now than I was before the Fall of 2009. :)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Mostly the past. Although not necessarily my own past.

But I do spend significant amounts of time thinking about decisions I need to make in the present, and their impact on the future.
Apparently I catastrophise lots.
