There are a lot of people that act like NT's are either a different species or are inferior.
There are a lot of people on here that are self diagnosed (not saying its a bad thing) or got diagnosed when they were older. Until that point you may have thought or known you were different than other people but still thought you were NT.
I could pass as NT, in some ways others might note that I seem off or something but i can interact with others, have some friends.
Now one issue that has helped fuel people wanting NT's to be inferior I think is bullying or stigmas. Someone is bullied who has ASD, can't really help it and can't say why/ or doesn't know why. it is much harder than it should be to tell close friends that you have ASD because of ignorance. Ignorance is not the same as being dumb, not as many people know what it is so it is stereotyped.

I am sorry that in someways this is not all that coherent but im just bothered how people seem to think they are so much better than others for being different and having to usually deal with a harder life.

http://www.dana.org/news/cerebrum/detail.aspx?id=2312 Temple Grandin wrote an article explaining how to what extent is something different before you can classify it as different (NT brain development in a certain area compared to AS and ASD)

You know what, this is completely true. I see it often around here, and I try my best to keep out of it. There's even a thread going on in General Discussion about how NT's are inferior. I don't relate to them well, but I respect them just the same.

I can't be too mad at those kinds of aspies, they prove me right in thinking all aspies are self absorbed douches who think they're better than everyone else. So I think we sort of feed off of each other in a way I can't understand yet.

I am not going to deny that I used to be really arrogant. Society hasn't helped much in how I have been told hundreds of times that I am really smart. But when I meet new people that I think I am smarter than, l make sure to see what they are better at. If I am helping someone with math I make sure to note they are good at drawing (which I suck at). Stuff like that, it will help you be more down to earth and not so sure that your smarter than everybody

I like to believe that Aspies and NTs are different but equal.

I have never understood the hatred that some aspies have towards NTs. To be honest, some of the NTs I've met in real life have been a lot nicer than some of the aspies I've encountered on this site. I also hate it whenever there is a criminal with AS on the news and everyone goes, "Oh no! He's making the rest of us look bad!" Uh, autistic people aren't all perfect angels, and I think we need to acknowledge the fact that we're just as capable of - and responsible for - committing crimes as anybody else.

There are good people and bad people of all neurological wirings, is what I'm trying to get at here.

I don't get why some members here think that being autistic is any better or worse than being NT. And how many people are truly "neurologically typical"? Sure, there may be some autistics who have had horrible experiences when it comes to social interaction, but what is hating these so-called NT's gonna do in the long run? Nothing! If anything, hate and anger will only burn bridges and isolate you even more. Soon enough the only "support" you'll have (if you can even call it that) will come from other autistics who feel as angry and hateful about the world as you do.

Ignoring the fact that not all people have the same blood type, a single shared characteristic is not proof of equality in all characteristics.

To the OP, I don't hate NTs, I simply don't enjoy living in their society. Just as I don't hate common chimpanzees, but I don't want to go and live with them.

Why did I get the feeling someone was going to accuse me off that? It was an analogy. I was not equating NTs with chimpanzees.
