Only because there are some scandanavians here, anyone eaten whale meat?

What's it like?

Views on whaling?

I think so long as its sustainable, I have no problem with whaling. If fact, there has been some reports of a collapse in krill (like shrimp) levels in the southern ocean, affecting fisheries. I wonder whether that has something to do with increased whale populations as several species eat krill. Fisheries just need proper management.

I've been to Norway before but did not have the chance to eat whale while I was there.

I'm ok with commercial whaling, as long as it's sustainable.

It's a little difficult to tie together decreased krill numbers in the Southern Ocean, with increased numbers of whales, and with Iceland starting up commercial whaling. The North Atlantic, North Sea, and Barents Sea are kinda far from the Southern Ocean...

Never eaten whale, never will. It's a disgrace for Scandinavia that those countries hunt whales.

It's not the whales' fault that krills are decreasing.

I'm surprised, I was expecting Litigious to say he eats whale meat just because so many people tell him he shouldn't.

I would never eat a whale unless I were starving to death.

From a moral point a veiw I can not hate them for whaling. But if these whales are endangered then they need to stop whaling. Myself I would never eat whale meat.
I tend to only eat beef(when I eat dead animals). But I'm sure a billion people in this world would think that makes me a monster so I'm not going to demonize the whalers.

I think when Denmark banned whaling in Greenland the natives became alcoholic welfare
cases. Were those natives evil people? I doubt it.

Increased whaling should intially lead to increased krills.
