This time, tomorrow. Between noon and 5pm. My county is one of the "hot spots" they said to worry about.

Lovely. I'm not in the mood for tornados!

We had sirens last season, and us 3 went into the basement with my HAM radio to listen to the local operators on reports. We moved and sat along the west wall, as the tornado was spotted to come this way.

In a few months back to square one. Maybe sooner though, as you.

We are more likely to get hail damage, so I park some vehicles under and in between a Hickory tree, and a Chestnut tree, to slow the ice ball descents by the foliage.

That's scary. My thoughts and my prayers are with you. I hope your area doesn't get hit.

I'd be so scared, but I'm not used to tornadoes, I wouldn't know what to do.
At least you get some warning.

You're unlikely to be directly affected by a tornado. They'd warn us and we'd all have to go stand in the hall away from windows until an all clear sounded.

Pack a bag of essentials including water, flashlight, lighter, high energy food
Have a predesignated meeting place for family
Don't mess around with down electricity or gaslines.

Are you going to be evacuated?

They don't evacuate for tornadoes, only for hurricanes. I'll just listen to the weather and see if one is coming this way.

Tornadoes usually have a smaller path of destruction, but last April's tornadoes were huge and really bad. This early we don't usually get the big f-4's and f-5 long track tornadoes, but we can. Last time the ones that hit were f-3's though.

We don't have a basement, and our house is on top of a hill. We just get in the hall when one is coming this way, but if our house were to take a direct hit, we wouldn't survive. Those things literally destroy a house. They also let the schools out early for weather, or start late for weather. I'm sure they will let them out about 11 today.

We also have a risk of flooding. But being on a hill, I don't have to worry as much about that. The would let the high school out much earlier for flooding because it's right ON THE BANK of the river. Great place to build it, huh? Sure, it's a pretty view but.....

That's a strange place to build a school.

I totally agree! It's about half a city block from the actual bank of the river. It's not much closer from where the old high school was. Maybe a football field closer.

I can send you the link to the live stream of my local weather guy if you want. I really like watching when they go to that continous coverage. I'll do it in PM though and tell you which city in the county mine is. He's really good at this live continous coverage and it's actually more entertaining than people think.
