Yesterday, on my way home from work, it was raining very heavily. So heavily, in fact, that I couldn't tell whether I was in Houston or Venice while I was driving. At a busy intersection, my car stalled and some passersby had to push my car to a slightly higher stretch of ground. When I got out of my car, the water was up to my knees, and the water in my car was only a inch below my seats.

Two hours had passed between the time I left work and the time my uncle picked me up in his van. It normally takes 30 minutes to get home.

Claims adjusters are currently assessing my car to determine how much insurance will cover--it will cover the wrecker car and a rental. The damage appears to be very minor, though.

I saw something about these rains on the news and thought about you ...glad you are all right. :D
It is kind of strange, when I hear about "disasters' on the news now,I think of my WP "family".

My rental will probably be a Chevy Cobalt, Toyota Echo, etc.

For a few dollars more, I could get a Cadillac or a Lincoln, but I like to save money.

I visited Houston in the middle of December several years ago. Very beautiful, of course, the grass was still green and the sun was bright and all was very comfortable. (50F)
I would never go there at any other time of year.
Here in Tucson, we have mostly beautiful weather, our monsoon season isn't as long and dangerous.

Well, they say everything's bigger in Texas...even the storms, I guess. :?

If you get the right Cobalt (an LT or LTZ), you won't miss much from a Caddy or Lincoln. You won't mistake it for a Cavalier, that's for sure. Good luck on all that.

Zed, who'll be renting a car himself for the rest of the week while his is in for surgery (long story)
