What a way to start off Theatre Practicum...
Let me explain. Last semester, I took a Theatre Appreciation class. This semester, I signed up for a Theatre Practicum class with the same professor and some of the same classmates I had back in Appreciation. Many of them are theatre veterans at my school, but I'm a beginner. I signed up for Theatre Practicum solely so I could be a part of my campus's theatre program. I auditioned for a play, along with some of my other classmates. I was encouraged through the auditioning by my professor and some of my classmates, and I was told that I did a great job with some of the characters I read for, and I figured that my audition went so well that even if I didn't get the role I desired, I'd at least be casted for something in the play.
Then the cast list was posted today. I didn't get casted at all. Needless to say, I was highly upset, and very pissed off. I went through all that trouble auditioning for nothing. Furthermore, the people I did script readings with all got parts in the play. I can't even face them or my professor now. I'm humiliated! I haven't had a speaking role in a play since I was in junior high! I feel like since then I've been getting nothing but the shaft with theatre. I'm f*****g sick of it!
I'm actually considering dropping Practicum. I'm that upset.
