Hey guys! Here's a thread for us VH fans to talk about how ciked we are (and by we, I mean the ones who are not too pissed at the band) to hear the latest Van Halen album and/or see them on tour this year.
Just post a reply saying how much you're looking forward to the album/tour, whether you're planning to any of the concerts, or how (or whether) you're liking the latest singles. You can also post a classic VH song you REALLY like (even if it's a Van Hagar song), or past memory of being at an earlier tour, or anything else related to Van Halen. This thread is for us fans to express our excitement for the band getting back with DLR again - without Micheal Anthony sadly
- and discuss why we love Van Halen as a band.
Here's what I would NOT like to see in this thread:
1) Harsh, brutal attacks on the band for kicking out Michael Anthony or Sammy Hagar. What I mean is "Oh it's totally not Van Halen because no Micheal Anthony" or "Van Halen can kiss my ass for not having Sammy Hagar." Listen, I'm as pissed as any other VH fan about the replacement of Michael Anthony with Wolfgang, but fans like me are willing to move on and give Wolfgang a chance. There's nothing that can be done about Micheal Anthony unfortunately, and I have somewhat high hopes for Wolfgang. Don't get me wrong, I know that he will NEVER be the bassist that Micheal was. But I'm not gonna let him being the bassist ruin my enjoyment of the new album and tour. So PLEASE don't post those kinds of comments. I've heard it a MILLION DAMN TIMES, and I don't need to hear it again.
2) Flaming or extreme criticism of the new album/singles. That doesn't mean you can't give some constructive criticism or point certain flaws in the songs or anything like that. In fact, I personally find A LOT wrong with the single "Tattoo." However, that doesn't mean you can just go on and say that the song is s**t or that the album is worse than VH3 (which is simply not true). Yes, you are fully entitled to your opinion, and I respect it 100%. In fact, I may understand why you would hate the album or any of the singles. But for the sake of the rest of us VH fans, please keep it to yourself and let us enjoy the album/tour.
3) Posting comments about merely hating Van Halen as a band (just because you don't like them). Again, you have every right to have your own opinion, but this is NOT the place to rant about it. If you REALLY don't like Van Halen, then don't post anything in this thread. Just leave us fans alone!
That all said, please feel free to express your excitement and enthusiasm for the new tour and album! ROCK ON VH FANS!! !

I love VH!
When I was a teenager, VH came to town about every year, and I hosted a legendary party. I'd get the money for the tickets from everybody who was invited and buy a block of tickets on the floor, together. Then I would rent a suite on the club level of the hotel across from the civic center (same hotel the band stayed in). The club level required a pass key in the elevator so nobody who wasn't invited could crash the party. I'd buy all kinds of food, and all kinds of alcohol. People brought what other supplies they wanted for themselves. I'd invite about 15 or 20 people to this.
Most of the girls would meet in the suite before the concert to dress, then go to the concert. Afterwards we would go back to the suite and party until about dawn. Being a big suite, there was plenty of room for those who wanted to pass out there to sleep. Until 11am at least.
I did this everytime they came to town, until they became Van Hagar. I hate Van Hagar. I won't go into that.
My favorite album of theirs is Fair Warning, but I dearly love the older stuff too. VH could possibly be the soundtrack of my life.

I didn't know they still existed as a band. I also didn't know know they kicked out Micheal Anthony. Maybe next the brothers can kick each other out and form "Van" and "Halen." Sheesh.
I'm nostalgic for the David Lee Roth days, but I'm going to check YouTube/iTunes to hear their new sound, whatever it is. Thanks for the thread.
Looking forward to the new album. I never thought that highly of Michael Anthony as a bass player anyways. I mean, "Runnin' With The Devil" is like... E over and over again, as far as I can remember. Anyway. I prefer the DLR era but I still greatly enjoy Edward's playing during the Hagar era and even on the Cherone album VH3. I might go to see them when they come in... March? I think. Not too many people I know are also big fans of Van Halen so we'll see
