We may have snow tonight! Of course that will mean no school tomorrow, but still. Snow! Up to an inch!

(You Northern climate folks can just stop laughing at me right now! ;-)

LOL I still don't get what all the fuzz is about when it comes to snow... I currently live in a country where the snow has been present for about a month and I hate it... I can't wait 'till spring and all the snow just disappears... I want sun, warmth and the ability to go to the beach in shorts and tank top... xD

Sure, it's beautiful, but when you have to go outside and at the same time look like a bear just before the winter it's just not fun anymore... I'm just looking forward to going out without shoes and enjoy the sunshine...

It's the same way in Texas, one inch of snow or ice and people freak out. God help us if we got more than a foot of snow.

Only takes 1 milimeter here...

Well ok, a little more than that - it's snowed twice this winter so far.

Oh yes, an inch of snow shuts down schools, some businesses open late or not at all, some roads get closed. We rarely get snow, about once a year or sometimes twice, so we aren't prepared to deal with it. In 1993 we got a blizzard. It happens about once a century and we got about two feet of snow. The city was in a state of emergency and shut down for over a week. We will head to the mall during a tornado warning with no problem, but if a few flakes fall from the sky our instincts are to go to the grocery store and stock up on milk, bread, and hamburger meat. Really. If snow is predicted, the grocery stores are packed and the milk, bread and hamburger meat areas are cleaned out!

Reminds me of Christmas 2004 here in Houston, but it didn't really shut things down, because we're too important to shut down, and the schools were closed anyway because it was winter break. I still have the post cards for Galveston at that time, where they advertised it as a "Victorian Christmas". This refers to the old Victorian houses there, and their annual "Dickens on the Strand" celebration.

We have to drive 2 hours to see snow. I have had girlfriends that had never seen snow at all. I saw snow last 2 years ago in a 20x10 foot shady spot. Prior to that probably 10+ years.

Michigan closes down under any layer of snow -- whereas in Ontario, we need "severe weather warnings", the inability to see our hand a foot in front of us, and hockey-playable streets xD

I've seen it snow around here exactly once in my lifetime. And so damn little of it that it would probably still look like summer to some people. Still, given where I live, I don't think I can be blamed for getting excited.
