I have dreams where I'm watching myself. Weird.

Yes, I've had 3rd person dreams, though more often it's person switching dreams.

My thread wasn't actually on vivid dreams, it was supposed to be on how someone psych works influences are their dreams playout.

Yeah I do sometimes, and I also dream about having multiple roles often as an outside observer mixed with being the other character that's not me AND being me. It gets complicated but makes so much sense at the time.

I have third-person dreams often when I have nightmares. I see myself running away or dying, for example, instead of feeling like I'm running away or dying. I don't have nightmares often, and not all of my nightmares are in 3rd person, so I'd say I don't dream in 3rd person too often.
However, I have had dreams where I see myself fall asleep and wake up. From the ceiling or something, it seems.

i do dream like i am observing sometimes, and at times i also dream that i am someone else (usually a man). i wonder if our very own dreams sparked the idea of reincarnation/past lives.

Yeah, they kind of do, but I can swear it's a dream...

During one of my dreams a few nights ago, I could see myself in the third person for a brief moment. I was holding onto the arm of my love interest and looking up at her, smiling.

Not technically 3rd person, but recently I had a dream where I saw myself lying in bed, so I though I had died and was a ghost walking around

I'm always me in my dreams, I never actually ''see'' myself in my dreams.

i am almost always me in my dreams, but in a few dreams i was a previous incarnation of me, in a previous lifetime. in one, i was a swarthy petty criminal in jail, and in another i was a tall fair well-educated rich playboy, both of those lifetimes were the opposite of what i am now, by extremes.

Sure. Example: Before seeing Peter Hook, I dreamt of Hooky and Ian Curtis having a chat. In black and white, like the film Control.

I'm often the observer in my dreams and I frequently replay a scene if I want to see it again.

I often dream as myself, but I once had a dream where I saw myself dancing. I don't even dance.
