The one on the right could be some kind of gneiss, dunno about the one on the left.

(I have no knowledge of the subject beyond that garnered from too much DF, but I do have a Dorling Kindersley guide to rocks and minerals. I'm probably wrong! :lol: )

Still a good guess. I'm not quite sure what it is, I found it near a river and picked it up. The other rock was in a quartz-rich area but was different than most so I grabbed it. I'm thinking it might be a quartz rock of some sort?

They where actually sitting up top in a vaulted ceiling area for about 2 years undisturbed. The hair is, probably my cat.

As someone who knows nothing about rocks I was going to guess quartz for the rock on the left.
