Any other insomniacs or late-nighters on right now? What do you like to do late at night/early in the morning?

I'm just sitting here wide awake trying to keep myself occupied.

Is this topic random enough?

I'm an insomniac, but it's not as bad as it used to be. When i'm up at night, the most I do is read, post, and watch stuff on Hulu or YouTube

What's the longest you've stayed up? Any effect on your health?

48 hours, and the only noticeable effect was eye strain.

I'm a late-nighter. I would be an insomniac if my medication didn't make me drowsy enough to fall asleep. Even after taking my meds, it takes me between 1 to 2 hours each night to fall asleep.

I do the same stuff at night/early in the morning that I do during the day: surf the Internet, pace around while listening to music, work on artwork, write in my journal and sometimes watch movies.

The longest I've stayed up is 36 hours. I felt extremely exhausted and panicked to the point that it was difficult to breathe and I felt a little nauseous (though that was probably the result of my panic).

I go to 24 hour resturants, grocery shopping, take frequent naps, all kinds of stuff.

I work nights, so on weekends I'm up all night regardless.

My older brother tied speed once and stayed up for around 3 days. He started to hallucinate and saw people dancing on the ceiling. I wasn't there to witness this but I would like to have been.

I'm a late nighter. I watch Family Guy & American Dad on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim segment & sometimes other shows on there while eating & washing dishes. I shower, watch vids on comp or browse WP or do other online stuff.

I stayed up for over 3 days straight when I was on a med for a bad skin eczema rash. `II had to take a lot of pills the 1st day & the amount I had to take got reduced every couple days & it was bad to suddenly stop so I had to wait it out.

I do have times where I'm too excited to sleep, like if something great is going to happen the next day. Or in the past I had no sleep pattern and it made it hard to sleep even when tired.

I've at the most gone approximately 2 days without sleep when really into a game... and my head felt like it was full of cotton, my eyes felt stiff and hurt to move, and I couldn't think straight, and my body was weak. I was also emotionally unstable and irritable at the slightest inconveniences.

Recently, I've not been able to sleep from an upsetting event, and found that alcohol puts me out quite nicely. I would be going through insomnia, but getting drunk makes me care free and drowsy enough to fall asleep in seconds.

It's like a fairly expensive sleeping pill to take every night though... but it works for me >_>

Edit: @nick007, I don't want you to think I'm annoyed with you or anything like that, but your signature being a long line of periods is making every topic you post in, not fit on the page without having to scroll sideways.

Sorry about that. I wanted to change my sig but didn't know what to change it to & wanted to keep the space available in my post for when I do think of something so I went with that. There's only a few now

A week or so with no sleep at all is my longest.
It's very rare I sleep more than once every third day.

I was out after 40 hours. Longest I've ever been awake.
