Why is the UK getting snow whenever the temperature drops...

In the East of the UK we've had a very warm, dry month, with temperatures reaching up to 23 degrees (celsius), 25 degrees in some areas. And we're finally getting some rain in the next week, but the temperature is going down to 1 or 2 degrees in one of the nights, and suddenly we're going to get snow. I can't make it out, I don't remember it being like this last year. Snow has always been rare in the bottom half of the UK, and now we're getting it at any little opportunity if the temperature reaches below 4 degrees, whatever the temperature has been in the last month or so. Is it something to do with global warming?

It's normal for the temperature to drop below 4 degrees at nights at this time of the year, and it always has done, but I don't remember rain always turning to snow just because the temperature has dropped to normal night time temperatures, if it's been fairly mild throughout the day (11 or 12 degrees). I would understand it if it's been 3 degrees all day, or all week even, and the rain becomes wintry, but for christ sake, not when it's been so warm all this time and now we suddenly get reduced to snow when the temperature reaches below 4 for the first time in 6 weeks.

Usually Aspies are good on this sort of thing, can somebody give me an explanation for this?

Have you had any snow yet?
It has been on the forecast on one occasion but I'll only believe it when I see it falling.
Snow in April does sometimes occur, but yeah it's rare

Because it's just our luck that the East UK get snow two or three times a year after we left school, where as when we were children we hardly ever got any days off school so not any ''snow days''.
