Next Monday my family and I are going to New York. I can't wait, I'm going to be able to see the NYPD for real! There is also a NYPD museum which I can't wait to go to.

It's going to be my first time in New York and it's going to be my first time on a plane too. I'm a little nervous but really excited :D

The trip was for my 18th birthday present, my birthday is in February but my dad booked it for November to give me time to save up. I'm going to buy so many NYPD souvenirs. :P

Has anyone here been to New York? Or is anyone from New York?

Haha, thanks guys :)

It's going to be weird seeing all the places I have seen on TV but in real life. I can't wait.

Oh yeah, I think I'll have my fair share of hotdogs. :P

By the way the NYPD is very nice to lost and confused tourists. Should you lose yer way ....

Of course, their answer is somewhat like asking a British bobby for directions....

Is that such a big thing to go to NYC, when you're an American? My brother has been to NYC as well as all states between California and NY state. 8)

Yeah, it's a big deal ! ! Just ask any New Yorker, and they'll tell you that NYC is the known center of the universe. Something to see everywhere you go. Plus the people!! !

(Of course, they are like Sweden as far as gun ownership goes, so you'd probably be happier visiting Phoenix!! !)

(When I check NRA:s homepage, I see the 3 most "pro-gun" states being Vermont, Montana and Alaska. In Vermont anyone who is of the age of 16 can buy a gun and use it on his own without no stinking permission whatsoever. Even convicted murderers are allowed to buy guns in Vermont as far as I can see. That's extreme, but the other extreme is Swedish/European cowardice and hysteria against anything that has to do with guns. In Montana, there is no age limit(!) for the purchase itself but you're not allowed to use the gun if you're under 14. These 3 states are the only ones where no permit whatsoever is necessary to bear a firearm openly or concealed for self-protection. But Arizona's gun law is pretty good too. You'd never have the right to bear a gun in court or in an election poll place in Europe, not as an "ordinary citizen", no matter the circumstances. Totally out of the question. But I'm afraid the anti-gun cowards will win in the end in the US as well. :( )

Wow your so lucky! Hmm I wonder if the policeman will think it's strange for an 18 year old to ask to have a picture taken on the horse :P Maybe I'll just have to settle with standing next to a policeman on a horse. :D
