Quirks

(I'm not sure I'm putting this in the correct forum, but whatever) I'm always surprised when someone says I have a lot of quirks, like in writing on school assignments and what not. It's particularly strange since I always try to be as straightforward as possible, or efficient(it's why I wear a simple black sweatshirt everyday). Anyone else ever get that?

I get told that I have a lot of quirks, but I like to celebrate them.

Get called a lot more than quirky I'd take quirky, weird, different etc as a compliment, regardless of the intentions of whoever says it..

I am odd, so it's accurate but also the alternative is the elusive "normal" and that's just insulting. Like being told your entirely unremarkable lol

Nobody has used the word "quirky" before, as far as I'm concerned, but I've been called, "weird", "special", "odd", "crazy", "hyper" and the like before. Someone even told me that I needed to go to a doctor to get my brain checked. Oh, if they only knew...

Yeah, I've got my share of quirks, but I like them and nobody can make me think otherwise. I always wear either a polo shirt or sweater to school and either slack or kakhi pants (almost always monochromatic). I hate wearing shorts, I always wear socks, and I still flap my hands when I get excited (but I've learned to control this in public), and I lapse into a strange sort of broken speech cadence whenever I get nervous or bored in a conversation.

So what? I ask.

I'm not sure what people mean with quirks >< Sorry if i'm dumb for not knowing, but i didn't understand it when i typed it in google either. Its confusing for some reason for me.

I also wanted to ask, what's flapping/flap :o?
