Name one embarrassing childhood incident that came about because of sensory overload. I'll start: In about 2nd or 3rd grade, my family had moved to this neighborhood that was close to a lot of factories. They gave off strong aromas, and the most obnoxious one of all was that of a factory that made, believe it or not, chocolate flavored teething toys for babies. One day, the cafeteria windows were open, and it was a warm, breezy day. The horrific smell of rubber and chocolate kept wafting in the windows, and I started to feel nauseous. I begged to be excused, but the cafeteria monitors were petty tyrants, and said that I couldn't go until I'd eaten my lunch. Well, I ended up puking all over the lunch table, and on the coat of a girl who sat next to me.

My junior prom. Went into overload and curled up into a ball into the coatroom. Unfortunately the coatroom was visible to everyone.

I had a similar experience when I was much younger. The first time I ever attended a school dance...It was in my schools gym, and the stage was to the front of the room. I went up the steps of the stage and hid behind the curtains...I was sitting there kinda hugging my knees and people kept coming back saying "Oh my God, are you okay?" and "Did you get dumped or something?" a rumor even began to circulate that a girl was in labour up on the stage

And I only wanted to be alone for a few minutes...

Way back in Elementary School, I ran into a metal pole. Caused a mild concussion.

So what did they do? Painted yellow stripes over them.

Yeah. I've got a lot of stories like that.

Yeah the same happened to me when I was like 10 or something. Went home from school wandering in my own thoughts... BAM! Head crashes into the metal pole of a "no parking sign". I was so shocked I fell... It took a few seconds to realize what just happened.

We had an annual talent show that the students participated in. I got a friend to help me with a magic act. When I stepped out onstage, I realized to my complete horror that someone had gone through all my props, and messed up all the gimmicks for the tricks ! ! I tried to soldier on, but every trick was screwed up. Thought I'd die of embarassemnet.

To this day I have no idea who did it...

My mum, sister and I were at some familys' place for a week, babysitting some kids that we knew very well. The Dukes of Hazzard was comming on, and my sister and I were doing a funny dance with some other girls. I was laughing so hard, that I peed myself. I was nine at the time, and the last time that I peed myself, before that incident was when I had a bladder infection, at the age of four. I was so embarrassed, that I was crying for five straight minutes.
