Which parent are you closer to?

I am a girl and I am closer to my dad but some people seem think that girls are closer to their moms and boys are closer to their dads (because of the gender think I guess). My personality is just more like my dad's. That's not to say I am distant with my mom though, no, I do have some things in common with her. Often, I will be thinking about something and my mom will mention it. For example, I will be thinking about what we should do in England this summer and what we should do and my mom will say "So what do you want to do in England?" even though I never even mentioned England, I was just thinking about it.

I'm female and I'm closer to my mom. My mom is perpetually patient, kind and gentle. We always get along and I can't remember the last time we had an argument. In my world of black & white thinking, she is always labelled in my mind as "good". She can do no wrong in my eyes; I am blinded to her faults. As much as I hate to say it, my dad is a very annoying person and he doesn't understand me as well as my mom does, so I am not very close to him. Although I do give him credit for trying to be supportive of me in recent times, whereas in the past he lost his temper with me very easily.

Male. Not close to either parent. Of course my father is deceased, but we weren't close either.

Male, closer to my mother. Still speak to Dad, but he lives in Western Australia now and shows little sign of coming back lol last saw him for a curry about 6 years ago I think.
I should have liked to have been closer to Dad, but he's rather aloof didn't even know he was more than a "singalong guitarist" for years, turns out he was a drummer long before, peaking when his band supported Cockney Rebel, so I'm told heh.. Funny Guy, apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but I'll talk the hind leg off a wooden horse... Or however that goes.

I answered gender issues and closer to Mom. I haven't lived with my dad in years, and I have absolutely no desire to ever see him again or hear from him or anything. He was an alcoholic and a horrible parent.

I have gender issues and I'm closer to my mum.

Male and voted mom even though she is deceased. Never want to see dad as he was a horrible parent and a sexual deviant (hetero as he wanted to rape me sisters and had absolutely no use for boys)

I'm male and ambivalent towards both of them equally.

I'm male, and closer to my mum. Not by much though, only because I talk to her more often than my dad. With my mum I talk to her about what's going on with my life, but my dad is more about sports. I still love them both equally, it's just easier to talk to my mum. I've noticed that it's harder to talk to guys, and keep a conversation going.

I'm about equally close with both of them, but I'm much more comfortable talking and sharing things with my mom, as my dad can be a bit judgmental and have some pretty off-the-wall viewpoints sometimes

To be honest I don't have a close relationship with anyone in my family but I'm definitely the closest with my mum out of everyone.

I'm closer to my mom, and not close to my dad at all, we suspect he went over the border :o And they're divorced, and we haven't heard from my dad in 9 months which i think is great, and i'll stop now before i start a rant here xD

Thanx for adding that because I would of had to vote for "I'm male and equally close to each" instead. We had problems getting along all my life because they weren't fully aware & certainly did not understand my AS, physical disabilities & other issues I was dealing with as a kid so we never had a close relationship. My dad's a lot easier for me to get along with but I'm around my mom more & mom does more for me but me & mom also fight a lot more.
