What would you do in this situation. You are walking to your office in a downtown area. The walk signal has a hand sign which means you can't cross yet since the traffic light is green for the cars. You see a blind person with his or her cane. No seeing eye dog and no one else is assisting this person. What do you do?

Do you ignore him and go about your business heading towards your office as soon as the walk signal light is on and safe to cross?

OR

Do you go up to him, ask him where he is going, and you assist him to the office building since you and him work at same building, and he holds your arm for assistance.

Just wondering since I hear that people on the spectrum are afraid of physical touch.

Thanks

If the blind man clearly wants to be escorted to the office, I'll help him. If not, I'll leave him to his plans, whatever they are.

I'd ask if he needs assistance. I'd help him if he wants it and leave him to do his own thing if he doesn't want assistance.

^^This.^^ Some people will gladly accept help from others, while others are fiercely independent, preferring to be left alone, in my experience.
