I'm utterly sick of hearing that nearly every single day on the radio, along with whoever died.

Why do they honestly think it's news worth broadcasting to a whole country? Is it like, "another goal scored" or something? If they were stupid enough to join the army civilians shouldn't be burdened with their stupid exit of this world. On the other hand, it acts as a deterrence for more people to join the army.

This may be blunt, but I'm honestly annoyed of hearing it every single time when not only am I not at all interested in such news, but I (or anyone) cannot possibly use it in any way (since in all likelihood they're strangers).

The problem is that if they didn't report it people would start screeching about a government cover-up, and how they don't tell the people what is really happening.

I think it's right for them to report it. You don't have to feel anything about it if you don't want to. I feel sad for the person's family.
