I want a hamster

When I was a kid I had a hamster and now I have become obsessed with getting another but I cannot get one at the moment because I live with my mother. So I am trying to get a job now so I can move out and then get a hamster.

Does anyone like hamsters? I used to love it when mine crawled all over me. Also do you think its cruel to have them in a cage? I used to let mine out all the time and let it run around the room.

I had lots of hamsters in the past and really like them. I don't think it's cruel to keep them in a cage
as long as it is big enough and you let them out for play often.
I have 2 cats and very shortly a boa so the cage is (in this case) a good idea.

It's fine to kep them in a cage if it's large enough and provides activities for the hamster. A cage with only a wheel is not enough; it needs to have tunnels and things of that nature. They like to play too. Taking them out of the cage, as the above poster stated, is fine as long as the hamster isn't likely to get lost in the house or injured by anything/anyone, including other animals.

But what I really want for a pet is something with a bit of an additude lol

Like a super snarkish little cat >D Or a gecko with those sassy eyes that doesn't even have any shame about having you feed it live bugs Pets like that people pets like that are the kinds I want....something I know will always be just as badass as me while still being totally cute?


EDIT; I like that video, though. He's not afraid to just happily eat around.
