So today I was at Wal-mart and happen to notice in the toy department they have some new Monster High Doll characters, which I have been collecting for some time no and must be the only adult who likes them, and no I'm not goth or emo or anything I just think they're really cool and different. So, I decided to buy a couple of the dolls and as I'm waiting in line a lady probably in her 50's remarks in a loud and obnoxious voice "Oh my god those things are so ugly, the kids all love them but they're hideous!! !" I told her I thought they were cool and admitted I collected them and wasn't buying them for any kids. She goes on "They'd give me nightmares" and I got a little embarrassed and upset and snapped something about her keeping her opinions to herself. She seemed shocked at first but wouldn't stop laughing. I paid for my dolls and hoped I'd never have to meet someone like that again. I wish people wouldn't make rude or negative comments about some of the things I buy, sometimes I'm reluctant to buy stuff because of what people might say or even think. Like if I buy a bottle of Pepto-Bismol at the drug store, will someone think it's because I've got the squirts or something? :lol: They don't know me, they shouldn't care. :(

As someone who has cashiered I don't care what you buy, as long as you are not obnoxious or trying to find a reason to get angry at me over nothing.
You should have said something creepy like "I give nightmares" :twisted:

Walmart does not stock anything unless a LOT of people purchase it; that store does a huge volume.
Therefore, you are in the majority, regarding collectibles, and Nosy Rude Person knows nothing.
You have a right to make yourself happy;
She needs to be quiet and go home.

That was really rude of her. It's none of her business what you buy or why.

When freedom of speech came to play I don't think it was meant to be used to be rude like that.

People like her in stores are the reason why I shop online

Yeah, she shouldn't have done that. It's one thing to comment on it if you see it on the shelf, it's another thing to comment on it if you see it in somebody's hands.

As for the being reluctant to buy certain things you shouldn't have to worry, especially if you're in a drugstore or book store. People are a bit more open-minded at those places as tons of people buy the same stuff at those stores constantly.

Too bad you couldn't have got the clerk to announce 'price check on Vagisil' when her turn came. It doesn't hurt a thing to go all Rain Man on people like that, at the worst they look like an even bigger ass in public when they mess with a poor disabled person
