Interesting mix of people. Bill Monroe was probably a better banjo picker than conversationalist.
Mark Twain would also head my list, with George Bernard Shaw, and Oscar Wilde following closely behind. Einstein seemed like a pretty cool dude (ive started that recent bio that came out a couple years ago).Clarence Darrow, and HL Mencken perhaps.
In the fifies Mort Sahl quipped that "everyone says I'm 'the first standup comic to go on stage with a newspaper', but Will Rogers did that a generation before I did. Will Rodgers pretended to be hayseed, and made fun of the sophisticates running the country. I pretend to be sophisticate, and I make fun of the hayseeds running the country!"
So you'd have to the Mort Sahl to go with Will Rodgers (yin and yang).
