I don't usually eat a lot of candy (although I occasionally get huge cravings for baked sweets like cake and cookies), but I refer black Twizzlers over red, (it's not licorice if it's red, okay? It's supposed to be strawberry, but it doesn't taste anything like strawberries), licorice babies, black ju jubes, black gumdrops and black jelly beans. Everyone else just goes "EWWWWW!! !". Oh well, more for me then. :P Actually my dad likes licorice, too. One of his favorite candies are Licorice Allsorts and we are both probably the only members of our family who eat them, although my brother seems to now like the bags of soft chewy licorice. When I was a kid my mother would take my brother and me to the movies and buy a big bag of Goodies (or Good N' Plenty as I think they're called in the US), and I would eat them even though the licorice flavor was strong and my tongue would get kind of numb, and sometimes I'd nibble the candy shell off and eat the licorice afterwards. Sometimes I'd even chew some aniseed that my mother used in cooking. Weird, huh? :) Of course most candy licorice is artificially flavored, but there are these cough drops where I live called Fisherman's Friend, which have real licorice, and I found them VILE! :eew:

I think that licorice of any kind is disgusting. I hate it almost as much as I hate fish, and that's saying a lot.

I usually avoid it altogether, not really liking the taste, and am disappointed if there is a high licorice count in mixed flavored candys. Nothing is more disappointing then opening one of those very small packages (like you give out on Halloween) and finding one yellow and two black candies 8O :x . I have had it sometimes in Good & Plenty, but think it just barely palatable, with the sugar coating.

Mmmmm licorice. :chef: I used to buy raw licorice sticks and gnaw on them too.

I like red licorice but can't stand the black. My husband loves it though, and black jelly beans.

OP, yes, black licorice - yum. Just friday afternoon I was at a candy store, where there are about 100 jars of candy as well as a glass case full of their custom made chocolates. The proprietor gave me samples of all the black licorice. She was nice to do that, well, of course I'll be back to be a customer again for sure. Found a really tasty one, a little disk about the size of a half dollar ( u.s.) coin. They're really expensive so we only bought a tiny handful. :(

Yes, I'm very fond of licorice, especially salty licorice (salmiak) and licorice allsorts. We call allsorts 'English licorice' in the Netherlands. No idea why.

I hate licorice of any kind.
Particularly Twizzlers.

I hate Salmiak. I don't understand how anyone can like that stuff...

I like Black Twizzlers and all that, though.....

I love black licorice, but like red also. My favorite brand is "Panda" brand black licorice. It's my favorite. Also, if you want licorice taste with zero calories, buy licorice sticks from a Chinese market, it's as licoricey as you can get, but no sugar.

I love black licorice of any kind(especially the jelly beans). I think red licorice is gross.

Panda black licorice is delicious.

As soon as I saw this post, I ran out to the store and bought some Panda licorice, and tried their new blueberry, pretty good stuff.

So gonna try this ASAP. Especially since I can get both raw licorice roots and anise dirt cheap at my Asian market. Grind it up in a coffee grinder, and tada!

I really enjoy the taste of black licorice candy.

That reminds me - I really like the word "licorice". Maybe I'll name my next pet Licorice, if it's got black fur. :)

Hmmmmm..... the best.
You should go to Scandinavia or Denmark. We have licorice ice, licorice chockolate, licorice tea, beer with licorice and licorice a lot of other things. Or you could make your own http://www.urtegaarden.dk/product/lav-s ... ksaet.aspx or you could go to a licorice festival like this one http://www.grilleriet.dk/Nyheder/Sidste ... 2&PID=4503
