And this razor is the best of all my razors.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-Weishi-9306A- ... 3cc619a08e

That's it. It's gold. It's totally sweet. What happened was, I made a post on a forum about razors I go on asking for advice, and someone offered to send me that razor, and some fancy shaving creams and basically a whole starter kit (brush, alum stick) for free. Which was totally awesome. I got some Feather blades, too, and Feather blades are totally awesome, too. Wow. Feathers are pretty much known to be the sharpest double edge razor blades you can get.

But I'm quite happy with my new razor, though. I think this may be an "obsession." Heh.

Thank you. It's totally fantastic. At least as far as obsessions go, I can have a bunch of razors and have them not take up too much room. And they're not too expensive.

I'm thinking this'll be my next one...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... ink:top:en It's Chinese like the Weishi, but a better quality one than my first Chinese razor.

I was surprised at the gold, too, because it's a nice looking gold, not cheesy looking at all. They make a gunmetal one that looks fantastic, too.

Shaving like this is cheap, and there's so many razors and blades to choose from.

I was thinking you meant a straight razor. I was so excited.

I prefer using my electric shaver. Don't tend to get a lot of facial hair anyway and guaranteed to be cut free.

I shave with something like that, though mine is steel and sort of dome shaped across the top. It takes dirt cheap double sided blades, shaves at least as well as the Mach3 I used to use, and is much more satisfying to use. I do have a couple of cheap straight razors, but I didn't buy them with shaving in mind and wouldn't want to try it with either of them.

That is one sweet razor you have there. So much so that I want to steal it... just kidding!
I'm fine with the straight razor that I have.

Which razor forum?

The Weishi's are nice huh.

I'm bidding on a 4th quarter 1959 Gillette Fat Boy at the moment, my birth year.
Be nice to own something as old as myself

I use a strait razor and safety razors are just that thin blade inclosed except the very edge like a disposable only better. The blade could be misused but is less likely given the thinness of it.

Ill stick with old faithful H. Böker & Company early design strait razor like this. Image I think mine was even made in the same town in Germany. But I have my grand father safety razor as well a few vintage straits.

I can vouch for double edge shaving totally kicking ass. I get a MUCH closer shave with my weishi, and the blades are incredibly cheap. I will NEVER go back to a mach 3. Thank you for talking me into buying a weishi, 1000knives.

by the way, i feel extremely odd referring to you as 1000knives and having you call me der stadtschutz. Do you mind using our first names here? Fine if you do, I won't use yours, but I don't mind if you use mine.

I'm still using Schick Hydro 5 lol. But have been curious about double edged shavers for quite a while.

I presume you just refill them with those double edged blades I see in the store or pharmacy? It's always seemed peculiar to me that they sell the blades but not the shaver to use them.
