I bought printer toner online from Staples.

My first choice would've been to drive to one of their two brick-and-mortar locations nearby but they don't package the toner cartridges I need separately. What is the point of having a printer that has different colors of toner in separate cartridges if you can't buy the cartridges separately, as you need them?

A Proline R700 DVD Recorder for £2.69 on Ebay (plus a bit of postage, of course). Comet stores in the UK used to sell these for around £70 about 15 years ago, and they were pretty reliable. The vendor stated that the eject tray was prone to sticking, but if that's all that's wrong with it, it could prove a very good purchase.

I guess I'll add the last unnecessary thing I bought (no practical use):

My birthday last year, and it was the newish fully serrated version of the Cold Steel Kobun. Not using, just collecting, as I have an unused plain edge version too. Matching. I could see it useful for people cutting a lot of cordage/cardboard, for boating/diving, "tactical" and/or those that don't like sharpening. I like the Kobun design, obviously. Whilst they had "tactical" in mind, it's fine for outdoors, utility and kitchen use too. Not all that large, thinnish, the sheath has a clip so no need for a belt and not all that expensive for something that'll last forever for all intents (around 100 buckaroos for a genuine one where I live).

I don't use the sheath on the one I carry when in the woods though (backup knife or primary if I'm just sticking to the roads), rather just something I made myself out of canvas with its own clip; the Cold Steel hard plastic sheaths can dull the edge over time.

Two sets of 30cm long zippers and a meter long garter.
To fix a PPE suit. I'll start tonight at the earliest or tomorrow afternoon at latest.
