A 4TB Seagate IronWolf drive, to replace a WD Red 3TB drive that's starting to sprout bad sectors - after only three years or so.

In the process I came to understand how they're reported and how to translate to a logical sector with the file using it, if any - and dusted off some lightly rusting Pascal programming skills to write a small program which when fed with the device plus the reported failing LBA, shows the file using it.
So I guess it's not all bad.

I like it. It's a real carving (or perhaps embossing). Has a lot of texture to it. Fake whale tooth of course. It's smaller than I expected, even though the seller said it was 4 inches tall. So I might go for this 7 inch one also. They'll look good next to each other.

I'd go for it too...
They would look very good next to each other, for sure.

I tend to go for glass objects - small vases, art deco pieces, opalescent stuff is a favorite - here's a few recent buys (not my images - none of them really do justice):

That's nice glasswork. I've always liked stained glass in its various forms. But I've had a bug for nautical things for decades. I also bought a ship in a bottle at the same time. Which is kinda glasswork. I used to have a couple, but I probably gave them away a long time ago. I got this one from Home Depot of all places. Will probably arrive tomorrow. Maybe someday I'll try actually building one.
