I've been lonely and depressed lately and read others posts talking about the same thing so I started to think in depth about what is causing these feelings and how to possibly change them.

Google came up with - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulation_of_emotion

I mean the richest people I would think grow up used to everything they have, so emotionally it seems they would have a much harder time to maintain their happiness than a middle class person (not factoring in relationships, or just keeping both average).

My brain is sending signals complaining about this idea of "loneliness" and "sadness.," especially when I focus on what I lack. Especially on things I used to have and now don't. And when I receive new things in life I am happy for a short while with them then I go back to below "happy well-being".

I don't know. It almost seems to me like moderation is the key (but treat yourself one and a while - "everything in moderation, even moderation"!)

But I just wish my baseline could be neutral, not below.
