So there's a long running show from the UK called Desert Island Discs. On it, they invite a guest and ask them to imagine they're stranded on an island. They can have 8 songs of there choosing, as a well as a book to read, and an item of luxury.

So, if you were stranded on an island indefinitely, and could have 8 songs to listen to, a book, and a luxury item, what would they be? The luxury needs to be a single item, like a musical instrument or a toy. However you can have a combination of things so long as one needs the other to operate. Like paper and pencils; one is useless without the other.

Does electronic items like a TV count? If it does, then would all my Simpsons/South Park box sets count? Or is that classed as more than one item.
If no, then I would say my writing book and pens. The trouble is, my luxuries don't last, they need to be renewed, unless you mean if I were trapped on an island temporarily.
