Reminds me of an early Garfield comic where Garfield says to the reader,
"You know what a diet is, don't you? IT'S 'DIE' WITH A 'T', THAT'S WHAT IT IS!"

I'm not sure if this is meant to be a joke, but I agree with the sentiment.
In order to be sustainable a diet must be lifestyle changes that you can see yourself continuing through your life. And not some fad you're going to ditch when you reach the goal.
A livet seems to be more appropriate

People say all sorts of nonsense. Just narrow your eyes at them and walk away.

The word Livet is not on the Merriam-Webster definitions site so I bet most US English teachers would not consider Livet to be a real word :nerdy:

What's the point of starving yourself and restricting what you eat when society will soon collapse and we're all doomed anyway? We're lucky if we can even still afford food, it's become insanely expensive and in a few more months we won't be able to afford anything. At least it will take us fatties longer to die of starvation when it happens. Although starving to death is a very painful and miserable way to go.
