Why is it every time I post something it always turns in to a debate instead of staying on topic. I'm really sick of the whole damn thing myself and that is why I'm posting here less and less. And other Aspies are the worst when it comes to debating. Knock off the s**t and try to stay on topic. If you want to debate take it to the appropriate discussions.

I'm surprised they haven't debated which brand of backhoe is the best.

It seems that the majority of topics become derailed due to "meta-posting" (small conversations among users occurring within the thread).

Do you expect everyone to agree with you no matter what you post? Sorry kid, life doesn't work that way. No matter what opinion you may have, there will be at least one person who will disagree with you. Learn to deal with it.

You have the power to ignore people who try to debate you. I ignore them a lot when it happens to me epsecially if its so onesided as an opinion, whether because I just find them annoying, have not enough energy to respond, or my thoughts are mine and they won't change on their accord. Why do I care about some argumentative c**t trying to rain on my parade? I don't... and that is why they do not get a response out of me whatsoever.

What exactly is the difference between "some argumentative c**t trying to rain on your parade" and someone who just disagrees with you?

I was going to try to debate the OP to be ironic, but maybe somebody beat me to the punch.

It is pretty much the way forums work I'm afraid. It's the nature of speaking one's mind or bringing up questions in a public environment. The same thing would happen in face to face groups in real life.

The best way to have your say without so much interference or derailing is to start a blog. There's a blog feature in your WP profile, which is a little buggy, but works somewhat well, and there are also many free blogging web sites as well. I would suggest that if you want more control over responses, and the conversational direction, to start a blog.
