There is an "Uncanny Valley" of belief in which everything has at least one symbolic meaning.  On one side of this "valley" are those people who do not understand symbolism and ignore it, and on the other are those people who disdain symbolism and ignore it.

It is the people in the middle that have effed up the world.

While it may be difficult to win an argument with a smart person,
it is damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person.

People who feel powerless or vulnerable are more likely to endorse and spread conspiracy theories.

Enlightenment is enlightening.

Death is nothing to be scared of and is a natural part of life that should be celebrated especially if one's life was s**t.

Does "affirmative action" mean punishment?

i think you're mixing this up with "final solution" a la what happened in germany during WW2. affirmative action is the american terminology for a legal and cultural regime that aids black citizens who descended from slaves, to help them undo the damage from systemic racism [jim crow and redlining laws et al] in order to help them "catch up" to the rest of society in terms of educational and financial achievement.

^Thank you for the explanation. I didn't know "affirmative action" had a special meaning. In that case I believe your opinion is not that unpopular. As this is a thread for unpopular opinions, I thought you were bashing a minority group. My apologies.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who couldn't help but conclude that free will is a pernicious myth.

The world would be a much better place if everyone was asexual and it was accepted. The planet wouldn't be so overpopulated, virginity as a teen or even an adult wouldn't be seen as something to be deeply ashamed about, there wouldn't be incel terrorism or zoophilia or pedophilia, or sex-related crime or second-hand cringe from embarrassing and unnecessary sex scenes in movies and TV. There would be much fewer cases of STDs. Women would be able to safely walk alone or eat a Popsicle in public or order drinks without worrying someone slipped drugs in there. And commercials wouldn't be using sex to sell everything, oh sweet lord how I hate that.
