So my husband and I went downtown this evening for an out and it was a disaster. We were both hungry so we stopped at McDonalds and ate. While I was waiting for my food, this kid climbs into the booth I am sitting in and it totally freaked me out. I felt uncomfortable and I wanted to scream and push him away like he was some wild animal but this was a child. This kid was harmless and there were people around so of course he wouldn't hurt me but it still made me uncomfortable what he did. Then my husband told me he wanted to see my game. I was playing my Nintendo DSi XL. Then all of a sudden the boy's bother asks him what is he doing and tells him to come over here and he gets off the booth and runs over to her. I didn't even know this boy so to me he was this strange kid who climbed on the booth and got near me and it freaked me out.

My son always does this when he sees someone with a ds to see what game they are playing. I find it hard sometimes to tell if the person wants him there or not so I usually just drag him away lol

I can relate. I was waiting to get into the church for Thanksgiving Dinner last October and some kid was riding on his scooter past all the people in the lineup. He came close to running over my toes every time. There was also one time that he bumped into me and his parents didn't do anything.

Yeah, kids can freak me out sometimes. I got bullied by these girls (9 and 13 year olds) who I babysat once.

I had a similar experience in a Chinese Take Away near my home.
I went to collect my order and the restaurant owner's daughter who was probably 4 or 5 years old stood on a stool from behind the counter and engaged me in conversation.

I had to act interested in her showing me photographs of her dog back home in China.

I haven't been back as I'm too scared - hahaha.

I've known some kids who were rotten to their little soulless cores. I dread when the boss (where I volunteer) brings in his kids... his 8-9 year old daughter is a mouthy, selfish little terror!

I understand how you feel. I would have reacted the same way. I have always been really bothered, frightened and/or annoyed with any kid who is not related to me.
