I go to bed whenever I want. When I get tired I will go to bed so I sleep off and on. I got up at ten at night and stayed up till around 3:30 in the afternoon and I went to bed and woke up again last night around 8:30 and saw I had missed the autism gathering I was going to go to. :( But doing this, I tend to lose what track of day it is but this forum tells me the date so that helps.

my problem is I don't sleep well, and get only 4 or 5 hours sleep, I feel like the walking dead

Since I got married, we go to bed between 10pm and 11pm every night. This has helped with my work routine, even though I only actually fall asleep between 1am and 2am. When I was still single, I used to go to sleep when I was tired, often when the sun was coming up, and then I'd sleep until 9am some days, or 2pm other days.

I prefer the current routine, I must say.

Now I am starting to get sleepy again. I might brush my teeth and go to bed.

I usually go to bed whenever I feel like, but on school nights I try to make myself go to bed sometime before midnight. Lately I've been going to bed around midnight on school nights, which makes me sleepy at school the next day, so I think to myself "tonight I'm going to bed earlier", but I do the same thing I did the previous night. I can't seem to learn my lesson. :(

How long do you need to sleep? What time do you need to wake up? For me, I can get away with six hours or more, but not less. Work backwards from the time you need to wake up, and prepare yourself for going to bed earlier.

There are other threads on WP about how to get to sleep - perhaps you should look at those?

Nope. I'm awake when I need to be and when I don't need to be and vice versa.

I go to bed at 9, every night. I have to do this. That way, I know that I will get at least 6 hours of sleep. I wake up between 3 and 5, most of the time.

I don't have a set bedtime, but I usually go to sleep between 10:30 and 11:30 PM.

I don't have a real bed time either.

Night owl is a bit of an understatement for me.

I've been doing this for some years now: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/0 ... rly-riser/

If I don't go to bed at roughly the same time every night, I'll find myself staying up later and later each night, until eventually I'm going to bed somewhere around 7 AM and realize I need to cut back.
