My father repairs restaurant machines for a living. I've had to clean out giant commercial ovens with him. The nastiest things are hamburger patty makers, nice dried caked on ground beef...
Anyway, the neatest thing I ever worked on was a muffin maker. It had pistons and was all actuated by air alone, with electronic solenoids controlling air pressure. It was a pain to work on, but a marvelous machine in how it worked.
