You get the chance to be president / premier of your country for a week, what would you do first?

I would free the animals from all lab testing and pass a bill making all testing on animals illegal. Also the fur trade.

Then I would pass laws preventing all discrimination against people with autism or other spectrum disorders, as well as provide better services and protection for all people with disabilities.

Bring in a few ministers with aspergers / autism to think out of the box and reslove the nation's problems in a humane and sympathetic way, turning politics and its attendant nepotism and corporatism on its head. Power to the people would become a real thing but there would be a system of balances in place. Everyone would feel motivated to contribute towards the nation's communal coffers as "shareholders" as opposed to the nasty word "taxpayers"!

What about YOU? What would your priorities be?

I would cut the military's budget alot & transfer the differnce into programs that provide medical care to disabled & low income & also services that help disableds & unemployed find decent employment.

i would make music education free and universal. come to think of it, i'd make ALL education free and universal.

make Puerto Rico a state.
Make education compulsory for all four weeks per calendar year. None of this standardized BS.
Free-ride scholorships to anyone who graduates high school while in foster care or loses one or both parents before the age of 16.
Marijuana, LSD, mushrooms are now legal in all 51 states. You may grow, cultivate, brew, sell, consume at your discretion provided you're over 18. Anyone currently in jail or prison for charges resulting from any of these will be set free. Legal age for buying alcohol is 18. Tobacco and tobacco-related products are now controlled.
National, across-the-board age-of-consent (w/o) parent's permission is 17.
Mandatory retesting of all drivers over the age of 65.
No money, no benefits, no recognition of any kind to any church, religion or cult.
Marriage is legal between two consenting adults provided they are not related by blood.
It will be illegal to discriminate for anything except in cases of age and employment. Eliminate affirmative action.
Free health care for all.
