I moved in with my girlfriend, Casstranquility so I now live in Vermont. I went up there from Louisiana at the begging of October to look for a new apartment; the lease on her's was ending at the end of the month & we both thought a bigger city would be better for us. Searching was frustrating because lots of places wouldn't answer the phones or said they would get back to us & didn't fallow up. We got approved for a place a couple days before the end of the month but we had problems because of Section8. She's on Section8 which pays some of the rent. Cass told 8 a couple times on the phone & in paperwork she sent them about how she was planning to get me added on to her household when she would move. 8 processed that I would be moving into her household but they didn't process that she would be moving, fugging dumb-asses. Cass called 8 to line up the inspection for the new place because 8 has to inspect it before the lease is signed & the person from 8 told her that other paperwork needed to be filled out 1st. Cass had to be out when her lease ran out on October 31st so all her stuff got moved to her parents & me & Cass stayed with Cass's sister. It's an efficiency apartment & she's only allowed to have guest for up to two weeks a year. 8 got that paperwork & then we had to get approval from them for a mid month lease because 8 wants leases to start on the 1st of the month. 8 approved it but took another few days to line up the inspection. The inspection was the day before we had to leave Cass's sister's apartment & the paperwork was signed the next day witch was my birthday November 16. Cass's parents brought a truck load of stuff there & we slept there that night. It has gas heat & gas was turned off & wasn't able to be turned on for about 5 days so we were pretty cold for those nights. Cass's parents aren't super close so getting things that were stored with them has been a slow process.
Things have been very stressful for a while & around when we started finally getting settled in we started noticing small bugs & Cass started waking up with bites, FUGGING bedbugs. We didn't go to the landlords about it because when we moved in we heard a big speech about how the place didn't have bugs & that we had to be extremely careful not to bring bedbugs there because they were a problem in the area & that if we brought them there the place would have to be professionally sprayed & sense it's a townhouse apartment which connects to a few other apartments they would all have to be sprayed & we would be responsible for paying the cost which isn't cheap because we brought them there. Going to management about the bedbugs might mean us owing so much money that we'd have to file bankruptcy & would be homeless because she'd lose her Section8 voucher. We cleaned & I sprayed things with bedbug spray one day last week & tried some kind of fog stuff for them Sunday.
The rooms are small but there's two bedrooms. 8 wouldn't normally approve for a two bedroom place but Cass has problems living alone because of depression & anxiety issues & her counselor/therapist signed a form that she needed to have a live-in-aid. I'm considered Cass's caretaker so I'm on the lease as an addendum instead of a tenant. The unexpected good news is that sense I'm a caretaker I'm not supposed to be paying rent so 8 is only looking at Cass's income when figuring how much they'll pay. That's really great for down the road when I'm ready to get a job there. My income screwing up her stuff might would make me feel like I'll be forced to stay on SSDI. I'll probably have better luck looking for a job in Vermont than I had in Louisiana because there's more things around, a bus system & the government is a lot more liberal so voc rehab & other programs/services may be more willing to help me than they've been in Louisiana. It's kind of surreal being in a liberal area instead of a hard-core tea-party one; I feel unwelcome & sometimes hated when I hear most people here in Louisiana talk about anything related to politics or religion.
Me & Cass left Monday to come back to Louisiana to spend the holidays with my Family. We took the bus here & we got here Wednesday. We'll be here for a little over two weeks. We'll spray or fog or something else for bedbugs again when we get back. We don't have cable or net there yet so there hasn't been much else to do besides go out or play her xBox lately. We weren't rushing to get cable & net because it made more sense for us to have things moved in where there going to stay before having Comcast come over to hook things up & Cass doesn't spend much time online & her comp is a laptop & laptop screens are hard on my eyes. I'll have to figure out how to get my computer, my chinchilla & the rest of the stuff I'll want up there. I might be able to ship my computer & other stuff up there but I don't know how to get my chinchilla up there unless my parents would drive up there but I doubt they'll want to go there in winter. They've been taking care of her & they've been doing a good job but I'd still really like to have her up there soon which probably won't happen for a while.
I may post on WP some while I'm down here but I'm not sure how much & I don't know how long it will be before I'll be an active poster when I go back up to Vermont. I have net on my phone so I'll keep an eye on this post & I'll check my PMs here too. I've been missing you guys & this place & I really want to thank you for helping me out alot. I think I've made alot of progress sense I joined a few years ago & I wish I could do more than just say Thank You
