I can't get my son to leave the damn bathroom alone. He flushes things down the toilet, has overflowed the sink a dozen times, and dissolved the popcorn ceiling over the bathtub.

He has a thing about water.
When I was a kid my aunt was living at my grandmother's house, and she left her jewelry box in the bathroom, I couldn't have been more than four years old, but I remember flushing lots of jewelry down the toilet and later that day she thought someone had stolen her jewelry(I guess there were multiple guests that day) and YEARS later it dawned on me what I had done and how significant it might be to tell her. I told my grandmother but she didn't know what I was talking about I guess. Only a couple of years ago did I explain it to my aunt, and I thought she knew about it but my grandmother had never told her. She was actually extremely angry at me and didn't speak to me for months.
Why I decided to share this story is not really something I know at this moment but it does seem relevant.
I was a monster.
