Apparently he's 21 feet long and he ate a little girl when he was in the wild they fear he poses a threat to more people if he was to be released back in the wild he probably ate more humans back in his day. But still he needs a much bigger pool so he wont be under a lot of stress a small pool can make him feel vulnurable.

If I ever win the lottery, I'll send the zookeepers the money to build a bigger pool for him.

I feel sorry for him. He looks unhappy, stressed and the stupid humans who are messing with him aren't making it any better

I live in South Florida and we have a growing population of native American Crocodiles here. Now they don't get quite as big as Saltwater crocs like Lolong, but they supposedly can grow to at least 20ft. There is no record of one in South Florida quite that big, but there is one in a remote part of the Everglades that's still pretty massive. Two biologists were the first ones to report it in 2009 and they estimated its length to be between 16-18ft. When I get the time....I want to go down this part of the glades and try to find it. I'll probably have to rent a flats fishing boat or something because it's deep in a mangrove swamp. If I find it...i'll definitely post pictures!! !

I wish I would give him a hug but he would eat me. Seriously though he needs a bigger deeper pool its driving me mad!! he also needs some mangrove and cypris plants in there so he has shelter and shade and can hide from the masses of gawking people!! I dont care if he ate people in his time he needs his space he must be around 80 years old.

There is also a 29 footer loose in the philipines that has eaten 3 people already I hope they catch him but please please please give him a bigger pool!

Eh, just life. He hunts. Humans hunt. We all hunt. It's one big hunting family of predators.

^^^^^^^I know,people here eat gator tail,good neighbor is a Cajun,he's ate plenty of gator.I don't hold it against him.It's just reptiles are special to me,I couldn't eat one,but I don't judge people who do,unless it's endangered.Lots of people here eat rattlesnake,fry it like chicken.I don't b***h at them,I just don't eat it.It's suppose to be pretty boney.
I wish they were here,I lived in south Ark which has gators but I never saw one,bummer.
I'd like to watch them.

There's plenty of crocs up a little north of the state I live in. It's big business regarding hunting, food and clothing.

I like them too (giant geckos!), but I'd also like to hunt one (clean and quick kill, always).

Something cool. It's not uncommon for them to be on the beaches up north. Not exactly the best place to go swimming.

I'm really impressed with the local people for letting him live after he ate someone. We're a really vindictive species and It's nice to see people rising above the desire to get revenge on predators for being predators.

You often see people go full insane after such things. There's a risk you take when you enter the domain of a predator.

But the shark now has a taste of people! *Groan* It eats meat, and all meat is on the menu, especially stuff in the water (we tend to be too bony for sharks and such though). It's nothing personal to the predator -- it'd be like saying it's personal when you eat a steak.
