There was a car flipped over in the middle of the narrow twisty road I have to take to get my son to preschool. The accident had apparrently just happened as traffic was not backed up and the police weren't there. I didn't get out to help because I had my son in the car and didn't want to leave him alone. There were a couple of other people already going to check on the driver and I have no training in first aid anyway.
The driver was okay enough to crawl out of the window and the police arrived soon after, so I got my son to school all right.
Then when I got to work, I found out that one of the founders of the Network died this morning, Deacon Bill Steltemeier. His funeral is going to be televised internationally with archbishops and Knights of Columbus and a big to-do. Lots of strangers roaming the halls and being given escorted tours of the facility. That means lots of strangers watching over my shoulder as I "perform" my boring-ass job. Time to tidy up my desk.
