But you last posted a year and a half ago. 8O (Not to mention your join date is only 4 years and 4 months ago) Were you in some kind of temporal stasis chamber where time passes more slowly than outside?

I've decided to be myself once again in the September of 2009. I was a 60s Mod when I joined WP in the July of 2004. Somebody that I've enjoyed talking to dumped me as a friend here in Early 2007 and as a result, I became very punkish and cynical. I dropped the attitude, started listening to The Kinks again and went back to my Mod roots. It's been well worth it. The 12-23ers in my area have left me alone and stopped picking on me since I've started being the person I really am, once again. :)

I also look like Mick Avory without the spiked hair, glasses and hidden lips. 8)

Sorry, that was my literal-mindedness kicking in.

It's difficult for me to assess how much has changed in the past 5 years on WP, because I've been posting more-or-less constantly so the changes have been gradual for me... but the forum does rejuvenate itself relatively fast, meaning that most regular members at any given time have been around for 1.5 years to a couple of months, except for stalwarts like CockneyRebel and League Girl. In terms of atmosphere, I don't think all that much changed since '08. Right now, the community in general, however, seems to be keeping an eye out for the upcoming publication of the DSM-V, and its announced folding of autistic disorder, Asperger syndrome and PDD-NOS into a single autistic spectrum disorder- and how the new criteria might impact those already diagnosed or those who have yet to be diagnosed.

That seems like a good general assessment of what has been going on in the community lately. There also seems to be a lot of debating about what constitutes "autistic symptoms" and what doesn't, judging by the sheer number of threads in General Autism Discussion related to those topics and the number of pages they reach. I've also heard numerous members complain about a perceived negativity in the atmosphere of this website; they say that too many other members complain too much about their lives and just being unhappy in general. (Personally I don't think that's true; the fact that the "What made you happy today" thread's pages greatly outnumber the "What made you unhappy today" thread's pages is a testament to that. At the very least, I haven't noticed too much of a change in atmosphere since I joined.)
