I'd absolutely love to support this site with a donation, but I'm not old enough to own a proper credit card, and I am still under my Dad's financial care! :(

Ain't it the truth. The site definitely deserves it.

Yeah Alex does not expect kids are people in economic hardship but for us who could spare some cash should help out.

I've been thinking the same thing and I missed WP so much when it was down. I would like to help keep it going.

I don't know how the advertisement system works on the site, but if my memory serves me right (and it doesn't always :o ) some advertisers pay a click-through amount just for someone clicking on the ads and generating traffic to their site, rather than simply to have ads listed in the first place. If that is the case with the ads here (anyone that knows able to comment on this? Trying to make more money for the site with where I'm going with this, Alex :P ) then clicking on them once and a while even if you aren't all that interested in what they have to sell would help. Granted, this won't be huge amounts, but even a few cents here and there would be helpful.

If, on the other hand, the ads are simply pay once (or monthly), have your ad cycled through, it wouldn't help the site any. :x

EDIT: Oh yeah, if it is a click-through thing, don't overdo it. Companies won't be thrilled if they notice several thousand click-throughs in a short period of time. I think they would have some sort of method of preventing it, but better to be safe than sorry. This is again mostly speculation though, I've never advertised on a site nor have I hosted advertisements.

If the ad placer like google detect too many phoney clicks they are likely to cancel their ad placement with WP without notice.

If everyone clicked an ad once a month or something like that (again assuming that causes any sort of profit) that likely wouldn't be detectable. I accidentally click an ad at least once every other month, roughly. Like I said, clicking ads for an hour a day would be a really bad idea, and could instead hurt the site, so people shouldn't overdo it if they do anything.

Yeah... having a way to make donations could be a lot less of a potential risk.
