I was reading Robinson Crusoe when I asked myself, "How would I escape a situation that was the direct opposite of a deserted island?" Imagine that you suddenly wake up in a foreign land with no money, no id, and absolutely no idea where you are. All you know is that you are cold and hungry and want to get back home. To make the situation more difficult you are forbidden to go near your embassy or call any relatives or friends. You are totally on your own and in need of a plan. What is your next move?

I'd go to the closest police station.

the first thing I would do is try to find the nearest public building or road, whichever came first, and try to figure where in the world I am. I would then try to learn basic words such as I need a job, hello, please, thank you, etc.. .Once I had figured that out I would either walk or hitch hike my way to the nearest town where I would look for a low paying job that does not require an understanding of the language( dishwasher, manual labor, farm hand). At first I would work for food and try to save leftovers. Then I would try to save enough money to use when an opportunity for escape presented itself . For sleep I would try to find a warm spot to curl up in or try to catch brief moments of sleep on the move. For sanitary reasons I would try to keep my hygiene in order by using public bathrooms or a clean stream. Using this method I would slowly plod my way towards the sea, where I would try to find work on a harbor and hopefully a job on a ship that would bring me home.

My plan would be to find shade. I have light skin and sunburns really arent my thing, after that I would want to eat something and sea cusine isnt my thing either unless its tuna fish, so I would need to find a coconut. then I would need to find all the hot girls on the Island so I could ask them how to get off.

Sounds like any place away from home to me.

Hunt animals for food (pets will do too), and avoid people as much as possible. Water wouldn't be hard to find, nor would shelter. These are things I know how to do, and can do, innately. If I lack memory, I'm not going to be able to interact with people.

I'd panic & wonder around aimlessly till I stumbled into a stranger who actually spoke English & could offer me some help. If I didn't & I didn't starve or freeze or somehow get arrested or admitted to a hospital because of my odd behavior, I'd look for church or charity to help or for an easy opportunity to steal some food & money & other essential things from someone or a place that could manage OK without it.
