I'll mention something about myself that I've just been reminded of recently. I am fascinated by tiny things. Whether it's an ant, a piece of dust, a miniature metalic ball, or a small earing I could hold it in my hand and marvel at it for a long time. Ants and small living things have the added bonus of being alive and they're even more fun to watch. I also like to hold pine needles and hairs in my hand. I just like to hold them and look at them. Sometimes I'll walk under a pine tree and compulsively reach up and pluck a needle from the tree. I never want to let it go but I eventually have to. If I didn't I'd have a drawyer full of pine needles by now. I look at the different parts of the needle and pull them apart and keep each part separate in my hand as I'm walking. I look at both parts separately.

I have micromania. Do you?

I know what you mean.

I wouldn't call myself a mania, but I find some small things fascinating, particularly things that have some very intricate structures or some perfect shape. Insects and flower/plant parts are examples. I like them as they are, but also when they are magnified.

When my daughter was 3, she was fascinated by minature versions of everyday objects. We went to a Chinese restaurant where they had hot mustard in a pot with a tiny spoon sticking out of it. Before I could stop her she cried out, "Look at the tiny little spoon!" leapt to the table and downed a spoonful. 8O . To this day, 13 years later, she won't touch hot mustard.

I also love small things. There's something about them. I've been this way my entire life. There's something cute about them.

I love miniatures, especially miniatures of kitties. I also like flowers. But then I like flowers regardless of whether they're small or big.
